What is Illumino?
Privacy-first website analytics, built and hosted in Canada. It tells you how many people visited your site, where they came from, what they looked at, and how your site performs; without cookies, consent banners, or storing any visitor personal data.
Why do I not need a cookie or consent banner?
Consent banners exist because most analytics tools store cookies, identifiers, or personal data. Illumino stores none of those: no cookies, no visitor IP addresses, no fingerprints, no persistent identifiers. There is nothing to consent to, so there is nothing to ask about. What do you never collect about my visitors?
No IP address storage (the IP is used transiently, in memory, to derive a country, then discarded), no cookies, no session IDs, no device fingerprints, no cross-site tracking. Timestamps are stored at hour precision only, and referrers as domain only.
Where is my data stored?
On servers in Québec, Canada. Canadian data residency is included on every plan at no surcharge.
Can I use Illumino if my visitors or customers are in the EU or UK?
Yes. Canada holds a formal EU adequacy decision (reaffirmed by the European Commission in January 2024) covering data handled under PIPEDA, and the UK carries equivalent adequacy regulations. Personal data can flow from the EU and UK to Canada without extra safeguards. On top of that, Illumino's architecture avoids storing visitor personal data in the first place, which is the stronger guarantee.
Is Illumino compliant with GDPR, Law 25, and PIPEDA?
Illumino is designed so the risky data never exists: no visitor identifiers, no IP storage, no cookies. That architecture, not policy promises, is what reduces exposure under GDPR, Quebec's Law 25, and PIPEDA. Details, including our DPA and subprocessors list, are on the Compliance page.
How does bot and AI crawler filtering work?
Illumino separates human traffic from bots and AI crawlers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and others) instead of mixing them into your visit counts. You see human numbers by default and crawler activity in its own report.
What does Illumino cost?

How do I install Illumino on my site?

Can my visitors opt out?
There is nothing to opt out of. Illumino sets no cookies, stores no IP address, and assigns no identifier; it counts only anonymous, aggregate pageviews that cannot be traced to any individual. There is no profile to build, hold, or remove.
Can I export or delete my data?
Your analytics belong to you. You can export aggregates through the REST API, and account deletion removes your sites and data; there is a 30-day export window after cancellation.
Does Illumino have an API?
Yes; a read-only REST API for your own aggregates ships with the Beacon plan and is open to all trial accounts. See Developers.
